WHAT'S NEW FOR 2010 AT PLEASURE BEACH RESORT

At Pleasure Beach Resort we want to ensure that all guests will enjoy amazing experiences throughout 2010.  An investment of £2.25m has been made for the new season to ensure that customer experiences are greatly enhanced.

There is a stunning addition to the Pleasure Beach entrance which will act as an oasis of calm and tranquillity prior to continuing on to a day of fun and thrills.

An old classic has been given a modern twist as new for this year, state of the art Dodgems have been added to the already impressive ride line up.

Going from strength to strength is our Education Academy. New for this year the range of courses and packages will be expanded to meet the needs of schools and groups.

Pleasure Beach Entrance

Phase 2 of Pleasure Beach’s new entrance is ready to be unveiled to the public.  Once customers have purchased their wristbands or passes from our state of the art Ticket Centre and entered the park via our secure airport style scanners and turnstyles they will now enter Pleasure Beach’s new Sculpture Garden.  Situated adjacent to the towering Ice Blast and classic Flying Machines, the Sculpture Garden is the perfect place to meet, pause and relax before heading out into the thrills and spills of Pleasure Beach Resort.

Designed by David Harber and Natasha Webb, whose work is already on display at such prestigious sites as Raffles Hotel, Dubai, Eton College and Heathrow’s Terminal 5, the gardens comprise of a series of cascading water features, reflective portals, glass walls and steel structures.  The sculptures combine to create a dramatic visual delight and the perfect entrance to the world famous amusement park.

Dodgems

New for 2010 are our brand new, state of the art Dodgems.  Situated beneath the imposing Irn Bru Revolution, this classic ride is sure to be a hit with all the family. An eye catching livery makes these dodgems contemporary and lifts them above and beyond what you would expect from this classic type of ride.  These new Italian designed cars are truly the Rolls Royce of Dodgems.  Robbie Williams, on his last trip to Pleasure Beach, declared Dodgems his favourite ride, the tattoo art designs on the cars are inspired by the legendary singer himself.

Education Academy

After a successful first year, our Education Academy continues to bring learning to life at Pleasure Beach.  The facility provides dedicated classroom facilities, education programmes from Key Stage 1 –4, delivery of diplomas in construction, built environment, hospitality and creative media.  We are also developing a programme of apprenticeships and work placement opportunities for local students.

Amazing Pleasure Beach.
It's stuff like the new B-Dipper station, and the new Sculpture Gardens that will offer the Pleasure Beach some needed theming within all the concrete that sadly floors the park a bit. Whoever came up with the concept for that station though is just amazing. It looks really modern, and so much better than the old station!
Love it PB. I think you've been getting unfair criticism on internet message boards, this is truly breathtaking, and I can't wait to see it in the real on Saturday ;D

Wow pleasure beach, new trains too and new signs i c on the q start? niiiice x
Posted by: Sharleen | 11th February 2010 at 8:10 pm

Had an amazing opening day 2010 at the Pleasure Beach today, 13th February.
Managed to squeeze a ride of the Big Dipper in, and I have to admit the renovation of the station and tower just stands out. It's truly amazing. Although I will admit, within the bustling station of the ride, I did hear several people questioning about the crash last season, and I think the ride operators managed to keep guests under control and at ease by reminding them that only one train was running.

With regards to the new sculpture garderns, they're not anything like I expected. They are beautiful yes, but they were incredibly easy to overlook, and I can't help but think some trees would help to improve that area, as it is quite bare and open now.

Having said this, I can only pass my ups and downs from the day, as feedback of course, and despite it being opening day, it was quite upsetting to see Infusion having a tantrum lets say at around midday, taking a good half an hour atleast to fix; and later having the trains reduced to just the one. I respect it's the first day of the 2010 season, but it was a bit of a let down.

Also, I do not think these new dodgem designs are anything special if I am completely honest. And I think by keeping the dodgems near Avalanche over the original Superbowl dodgems near the entrance wasn't the best of moves, because they were definitely not a popular choice.

In good manners, it was brilliant to see all rides (or all that I wanted) to be open on the day. And I would like to say I was absolutely amazed at the friendliness of ticketsales staff this morning. We had this lovely young girl serve me and my friend, and she was incredibly polite if not just a bit nervous. I didn't catch her name, but I wish I did because she gave truly outstanding service.
But on the whole, I believe this has probably been one of my best days I've ever spent on the park. Although I must admit me and my friend did gather a bit of an addiction to the Grand National of all things. (:

So thank you Pleasure Beach for an amazing start to the season; the Big Dipper is beautiful, but I believe some money has been poorly invested.

cant wait to go in march hope eveythin open i think everthin gonna look great
Posted by: leam | 15th February 2010 at 10:11 am

The Big dipper station looks increadible to be honest. I think it looks even better than the artists impression on here!. However the new dodgems look beautiful aesthetically The ride itself is rather dull on the whole and is not a patch in superbowl. However they do look attractive!. The superbowl was a superior ride on the whole in my opinion.

Now the new sculpture gardens look fantastic, really nice first impressions so well done with that!. In terms of ride reliablility it was flawless. On the whole i really enjoyed my time there and will not hesitate to visit again.

Cannot wait to take our twelve year old son.....Hes just at that age now to enjoy the rollercoasters. You just cant beat BLACKPOOL .
Posted by: juliet barber | 23rd March 2010 at 5:13 pm

I think that it is absolutely awesome that the big dipper ride is now back up and running and I also like the new trains and the new station.

I also like the new dodgems becuase I've experienced that you get to have a longer ride than you used to on the old superbowl dodgems.

Well done pleasure beach resort
