INFUSION ILLUMINATES BLACKPOOL If you’re not brave enough to try out Pleasure Beach’s brand new five looping rollercoaster, Infusion, maybe travelling in style down the Golden Mile on the brand new Infusion tram is more your thing..? 31st MYSTERY SOLVED Following the announcement last week of a newly discovered fairground scene by Laurence Stephen Lowry (1887 - 1976), it has now emerged that the scene depicted is not, in fact, Beswick Fair, near Manchester, as had been mooted. Instead it is an extremely rare, and historically important, rendition of England's biggest amusement park Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This new and exciting information emerged after David Graham, a Blackpool based journalist, came across stories of the discovery of the work in the national newspapers. 30th BLACKPOOL HAS GREAT APPEAL FOR KIRSTY Blackpool will this week play host to inspirational young survivor Kirsty Howard, 11. RECORD-BREAKER RICHARD BACK ON SOLID GROUND After 401 hours, nearly 8,000 rollercoaster rides and having covered a distance of over 6,300 miles (almost as far as the return journey from his hometown of Brooklyn, New York to Blackpool!), Richard Rodriguez dismounted the Pepsi Max Big One at Pleasure Beach, Blackpool for the final time, after smashing the current Guinness World Record for the longest rollercoaster marathon. 27th PAIR BECOME FACES OF PLEASURE BEACH Congratulations to Joe Codling and Abby Tudor who outshone the competition to become the Faces of Pleasure Beach 2008. 26th BLAME IT ON THE WEATHERMAN Yet again weather forecasters have got it terribly wrong! Predictions of Blackpool bracing itself against torrential rain and thunderstorms have proved completely unfounded as in reality the sun is shining and things are really hotting up at Pleasure Beach, the UK’s number one tourist attraction. 19th THE 14TH ANNUAL COSTUME CHARACTER CARNIVAL, PLEASURE BEACH, BLAC The exciting Costume Character Carnival at Beaver Creek saw thousands of families join Bradley Beaver and friends for a fabulous day out at Pleasure Beach, Blackpool. The annual event drew in massive crowds on Saturday and Sunday and provided plenty of entertainment for Pleasure Beach’s younger visitors. 17th TUITION FROM A CHAMP There’s a new addition to the Pleasure Beach Arena’s experienced coaching team – Dancing on Ice champ and former Hot Ice favourite Dan Whiston is back to the rink where he developed his love for skating. The excitement’s gaining momentum and so is Infusion as Pleasure Beach’s new ride went out for its maiden voyage on Thursday 22nd March. Infusion’s gleaming carriage left the cosy confines of the ride station and mapped out the journey which thousands of thrillseekers will enjoy this season. The test ride was part of the commissioning of Infusion, which is currently being undertaken by ride manufacturers Vekoma.
