FORTUNE FOR FORBIDDEN
08/11/2007
Stageworks Worldwide Productions and Pleasure Beach, Blackpool are celebrating after a successful first season for glamorous new show, Forbidden.
Forbidden ran at the Globe Theatre, Pleasure Beach, from 6th July until 4th November, and during it’s 4 month stint the show entertained more than 100,000 theatre goers. Fans were keen to relive the show from the comfort of their living rooms too with the DVD selling out twice throughout the season. (Don’t fret though, it’s still available online at www.pleasurebeachblackpool.com)
The show has also impressed industry insiders – next for Forbidden artists is a performance fit for the Queen with an appearance on the institutional Royal Variety Show, expected to attract around 8 million viewers. Following this Forbidden goes international with a one off performance to celebrate New Year in Mumbai, India then a show to entertain shoppers at the fabulous annual Dubai Shopping Festival.
The high standards and showmanship of Forbidden cast have seen them booked for pantomimes across the country including Glasgow, Horsham and Blackburn for cirque variety roles such as juggling and acrobatics as well as dancing and acting parts.
Hot Ice at the Arena has also been flying high, with 2007 attendance figures beating the previous record, set just last year, thanks to the escalating popularity of ice skating and flawless reputation of this world class show. In addition, cast from Hot Ice will join Forbidden peers at the Royal Variety Performance in December.
Forbidden will return to Pleasure Beach for 2008 by popular demand, whilst Hot Ice will enjoy its 71st year at the Arena.
