It’s officially the day after Hot Ice opening night, and it’s safe to say we had a ball! From the moment of arrival until the moment of departure, the audience was truly and utterly captivated throughout.

As the show began, the atmosphere in the room was instantly shifted, eager guests were glued to the edges of their seats and eyes widened in awe.

Each number was breath-taking. Outrageous costumes, detailed with the finest feathers and the most glamorous rhinestones. Skaters so effortlessly glided from one number to another, performing triple jumps and backflips along the way. Special FX coupled with outstanding stage production beautifully complemented the spectacular skating. Bubbles, snow, mist, fire, water – elements that would seem impossible to play with alongside an unforgiving ice rink, were made possible. Props and on screen graphics joined in telling the story, and highlighted the true excellence of the production.

But of course, it was the sheer, raw talent of the impeccable skaters that really brought the show to life. Interchanging between dancing amongst the audience and reappearing down on the ice; they did not miss a beat. Emotion and devotion poured out of them- from the strength in their movements to the expressions on their faces, it was clear that we were witnessing the very best skating talent that the world has to offer.

As Amore Amor Amour came to an end it was clear that The Arena was in agreement; they did not want the show to stop.  Mesmerising routines, jaw-dropping stunts, beautifully written music and intricately thought out lighting – everything about this show was top class.  Before seeing the show, it’s hard to comprehend the magnitude of the production. The team really are exceptional professionals who effortlessly bring together a lot of moving parts and deliver a show that demonstrates a form of artistry.

Producer and Director, Amanda Thompson OBE hand-picks skaters from across the world to bring audiences a show that quite literally sets the ice on fire. The cast and crew have beautifully and uniquely crafted a theatrical tapestry, woven with a wealth of skill and rich with passion and pride. This ice cold masterpiece could easily be described as the definition of a show-stopping performance, and is without a doubt the pinnacle of live entertainment.
