Amy Rose’s Story: Make A Wish Foundation

Last week, we had the pleasure of meeting Amy Rose.

Amy’s Grandmother, Susan, emailed us earlier this year to ask if we could help with ticking off one of Amy’s wishes off her bucket list.

10-year-old Amy was diagnosed with Leukaemia a few years ago and has undergone countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy since. Although Amy rang the bell at Christmas, her family are keeping up their hopes that does not relapse again.

During treatment, children are encouraged to write a bucket list of things they would love to do. Whilst most would wish for the latest gadgets and big holidays (and rightly so), Amy Rose simply wanted to ride the Big One rollercoaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach that she sees every day from her bedroom window.

A visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach to ride the Big One now she meets the height requirement was all this courageous little girl wanted, and it was our pleasure to make sure that wonderful Amy Rose ticked this off her list.

Here at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, people are at the heart of everything we do. From the reason we were created, through to customer service, guest satisfaction and staff progression; we always have and always will be about people. For this reason, it was very special to us when we were given the opportunity to make this little hero’s dreams come true.

It was an absolute honour accompanying Amy Rose and her family for the day, and we are so thrilled that Amy had the best day with us. It’s definitely safe to say we are in awe of you, Amy Rose.

We understand that things can change, the weather can turn, or sometimes something just pops up. With our NEW flexidate eTickets you can swap the date of your visit free of charge* without having to talk to anyone!
