Job Title: Senior PR Executive

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior PR Executive to join the PR & Marketing team at Pleasure Beach Resort – made up of the world-famous theme park, its two hotels (Boulevard and Big Blue Hotel) and its extensive programme of shows and events. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with previous PR experience to grow with an iconic brand as it approaches a milestone year.

A talented PR professional with creative flair, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our public relations activity, including developing and executing strategic PR plans, driving headlines in local, regional and national media, maintaining relationships with journalists, partners and stakeholders, and delivering unforgettable PR campaigns.

You’ll be instrumental in shaping the PR strategy of one of the UK’s most famous visitor attractions, and the Resort as a whole. Plus, you’ll join us at an incredibly exciting time as we celebrate 130 years of Pleasure Beach Resort in 2026, and prepare for the launch of our new, UK-first, £8.72M ride later the same year.

Your role will report directly to the Director of Marketing, Sales & PR and work closely with the wider marketing team to deliver Pleasure Beach Resort’s PR strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• PR strategy – Creating and implementing an annual plan of PR activity, to include ‘always on’ PR and as well as the ideation and execution of PR stunts and campaigns, particularly surrounding the launch of our newest ride in 2026.

• Media relations – Building, maintaining and nurturing relationships with key media, managing the press office (including both proactive and reactive PR), securing press trips, and identifying and pitching impactful PR opportunities.

• Brand management – Maintain the Pleasure Beach Resort brand by ensuring its Tone of Voice and Written Identity is upheld by the wider business and team.

• Reputation management – Monitoring the Resort’s reputation, including sentiment tracking and social listening and implementing solutions to improve brand perception, as well as supporting any crisis communications if required.

• Copywriting and storytelling – Overseeing and supporting the creation of engaging copy for a variety of channels, including the website, social media, marketing emails, promotional literature, awards submissions and external comms.

• Trend analysis – Providing ongoing analysis of news, industry updates and trending topics, in order to find opportunities and mitigate risks for our brands.

• External filming requests – Managing external filming requests and activity on park, liaising with production teams, directors and VIPs to ensure smooth coordination.

• Events and collaborations – Delivering press events, media days and managing influencer partnerships.

• Team management – Guiding and train junior team members, providing support with writing and pitching, as well as managing a direct report to ensure that objectives and deliverables are met on time and to a high standard.

• Stakeholder engagement – Building relationships both internally and externally, and representing Pleasure Beach Resort at meetings and events when required

• Insights and reporting – using tools such as Meltwater to monitor media coverage, compiling reports to track and evaluate success against KPIs, and contributing to the quarterly board report.

• PR admin – Working as a team to maintain key documents including media lists, coverage and press trip trackers, policies and processes, as well as supporting other activity within the PR & Marketing department as required.

• The job may involve occasional weekend and evening work, and occasional travel.

Due to the hands-on nature of the role, you will be required to work on-site at our Blackpool office, right in the heart of the excitement at Pleasure Beach Resort.

Who we’re looking for:

• You’ll have at least 3-5 years of proven experience in a PR-specific role (either at an agency or in-house) with a strong portfolio of secured media coverage.

• You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to tailor messages for different platforms, press releases, features, editorial, and spokesperson quotes.

• You have existing media contacts who trust you and the ability to develop new relationships with local, regional, national, broadcast, lifestyle, travel and trade media.

• You have strong networking skills and are comfortable engaging with people at all levels – including senior colleagues internally, members of the media, and VIP guests.

• You consume all things media – from news to the latest trends – and have a genuine passion for impactful PR and storytelling.

• You have strong organisational skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and excellent attention to detail.

• You have experience using PR tools such as Meltwater, Muck Rack, Gorkana, Cision etc.

• You have a degree or equivalent qualification in PR, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field.

• You’re creative, collaborative and enthusiastic, with an ability to act as an ambassador for the Pleasure Beach Resort brand in all capacities.
