Job Name: Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

Reports to: Electro-Mechanical Manager

About the role:

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer to work alongside our busy team, and assist in conducting maintenance operations at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The ideal candidate must either be studying towards and NVQ or be willing to undertake the required qualification.

As an Engineering Apprentice at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, you’ll train and learn, while you learn everything from how to service, repair and react to faults reported during operations of the Pleasure Beach ride areas with the aim of becoming our Engineers of the future.

The apprenticeship is designed to maximise your full potential and provide you with the competencies and qualifications needed to work as a skilled Engineer, Alongside the training at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, you’ll attend college to work towards the required Engineering qualification.

  • In this role you will keep our rides and attractions, equipment and facilities within the park, to a high standard of safety and efficiency.
  • You will be required to assist with daily/weekly/monthly safety checks and preventative maintenance checks.
  • Respond quickly and safely to ride shutdowns to ensure maximum ride availability. This will include working at height and confined spaces.
  • Assist in the execution and planning of the annual winter maintenance and certification programme, including all associated record keeping as demanded by HSE guidance notes and statutory requirements.
  • To implement and maintain a positive Health and Safety culture ensuring that Company Health and safety systems and procedures are understood and adhered to.
